The California Vehicle Code, Section 35701 provides local agencies the authority (by ordinance) to establish truck routes. Section 12.06.020 of the Dixon Municipal Code (PDF) details the City of Dixon truck routes. A truck route map (PDF) is provided for use in planning trips through and within the city.
The City of Dixon has adopted an ordinance prohibiting the operation and parking of trucks other than on through or local truck routes. The regulation can be found in Section 12.06.010 of the Dixon Municipal Code (PDF).
The city has also adopted an ordinance prohibiting the parking of truck trailers on designated through or local truck routes without being attached to a motor vehicle capable of towing the trailer. This regulation can be found in Section 12.06.040 of the Dixon Municipal Code (PDF).
Overnight Truck Parking Program
The City of Dixon has adopted an Overnight Truck Parking Program. Guidelines and regulations related to the program can be found in Section 12.06.050 of the Dixon Municipal Code (PDF). Through this program, permits are issued to businesses within areas designated under the program for distribution to patrons.
