The Dixon Police Department Records Division is the repository, retrieval and records management center for all official incident reports and warrants for the city.

Records personnel process requests for information regarding incident reports. Requests for information can be received by mail, fax, or walk-in during normal business hours.

There are a variety of other services the City of Dixon Police Department provides for it citizens. 

During normal business hours, 9:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday the front service counter is open for business. 

During this time anyone can come into the Police Department and purchase a Bicycle license for $4.00. 

If you are planning a garage sale you can also pick up a Garage Sales permit for $7.50. 

There is also information at the front counter concerning such items as, child safety, gun safety and gun lock information, as well as referral services for such things as family violence, child abuse, and mental health issues.

Any special events that are planned in which would include an temporary alcohol use permit, or any public dance or large party, public concert, or special event in which large crowds are expected a Special Event Permit must be submitted to the Chief of Police. These permits are reviewed and approved and must be submitted at least 4 weeks prior to the event. A department employee will answer any questions one may have about the permit process and upon review the permit is either granted or denied. This is in compliance per the City Ordinance and all information about this can be obtained at the front counter during normal business hours.
