The City of Dixon and Its Citizens: Working Together
The City welcomes community participation in the enhancement and expansion of city services. The City is dependent on its staff and the invaluable support of its Volunteers. Being a Volunteer encourages civic pride and provides a person sense of satisfaction. By providing quality service to The City of Dixon, both the community and its volunteers benefit in the following ways:
- Volunteers strengthen their skills and their talents benefit the community.
- Volunteers are personally enriched and meet others who share their desire to better the community.
- Volunteers are placed according the their skills and interests.
There are many opportunities for citizens interested in volunteering their time from office/clerical work to landscaping and maintenance; just to name a few. Generally, these volunteer opportunities require a 3 to 6 month time commitment as program participants may require training. There are a few short/long term special projects opportunities available. All volunteer applicants must be at least 16 years of age, will be required to fill out the volunteer program application, and submitted to a Department of Justice (DOJ) background check prior to placement. We no longer accept court community service appointed referrals.
Thank you for considering volunteering with the City of Dixon!
