NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
CITY HALL & ENGINEERING BUILDINGS
EXTERIOR PAINTING & SIDING REPAIRS
General Work Description: City Hall, the Council Chambers (600 East A Street), and the Engineering buildings (171 South Fifth Street) are in need of siding repairs and repainting in order to prevent further deterioration of the wood siding. This project is to remove and replace damaged siding and then prime and paint the exterior of all three buildings. The Engineer’s estimate of cost for the project is: $109,000.
Bids will be received at the City Engineer/Public Works Department, c/o City Hall, 600 East A Street, Dixon, CA. 95620. Bids will be received until 3:00 p.m. on November 1, 2018. Bids may be delivered, mailed or emailed to the appropriate address listed on the cover page. Bids will be opened and read aloud publicly at the bidding deadline.
Bids are required for the entire work described herein. The Contractor shall possess C-33 and D-41 licenses, as necessary, at the time the bids are received by the City.
Bidders may obtain the bid documents at www.ci.dixon.ca.us on the “Bids/Request for Proposals (RFP)” page. Bidders may review a hard copy of the bid documents at the City of Dixon Engineering Department located at 171 South Fifth Street, Dixon, CA 95620. Documents incorporated by reference in these specifications will be available for review at the Engineering Department. All bids shall be submitted on the contract documents provided in the bid package.
The successful bidder shall furnish Performance and Payment (Labor and Materials) Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract amount. A bid bond is not required. Contractors will be required to comply with the insurance requirements set forth in the special provisions.
This work is subject to the provisions of the California Labor Code, pursuant to Section 1773, the general prevailing wage rates in the Solano County as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available from the California Department of Industrial Relations’ Internet website at http://www.dir.ca.gov.
Bids may be held by the City of Dixon for a period not to exceed sixty (60) calendar days from the date of opening bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders prior to awarding the contract. The City of Dixon reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
